Head to head

TechFX vs Ruvo

TechFXB2B FXPJUSD

TechFX lets a business receive dollars from the US at 0.5%. Ruvo does that and far more: hold dollars, a 0% IOF card, sending, crypto, your own US account, and a personal side. Here is the comparison.

B2B FX vs a complete account

TechFX focuses on one thing for PJ service exporters: receiving dollars from the US and converting them to reais, at 0.5%. It is receive-only, business-only, with no card, no crypto and no way to hold dollars. Ruvo is a complete global account that does all of that and much more, for your business and you personally.

A note on IOF

To be clear, neither TechFX nor Ruvo charges IOF on the conversion. TechFX's cost is its 0.5% fee; Ruvo's is 0.3% for businesses, and free to receive. Where Ruvo's 0% IOF makes a real difference is the card: a Brazilian card adds 3.5% IOF plus a 2% to 5% FX markup on dollar spend, while the Ruvo card adds nothing, and TechFX has no card.

Cost of converting

TechFX charges 0.5% to convert dollars to reais. With Ruvo, receiving is free, converting is 0.3% for businesses at the commercial rate, and there is 0% IOF. You can also hold the dollars and convert only when you want, instead of converting everything on arrival. See the full flow in how to receive USD as a business.

A worked example: US$7,500 a month

Say you invoice US$7,500 a month as a PJ.
  • Spending in dollars (ads, US tools, travel): with Ruvo, receiving is free and the card is 0% IOF and 0% spread, so you pay $0. TechFX converts every dollar to reais on arrival and has no card, so spending in dollars means converting back and adding a Brazilian card's 3.5% IOF plus a 2% to 5% FX markup.
  • Converting everything to reais: Ruvo at 0.3% is about $22.50/month ($270/year); TechFX at 0.5% is about $37.50/month ($450/year). You save roughly $180/year on conversion alone, before the dollars you spend for free.

Where the real savings are: the card

The conversion fee is often the smallest part of the math. Ruvo gives you a dollar card with 0% IOF: spend directly on ads, US tools and subscriptions, and travel. A normal Brazilian card adds 3.5% IOF plus a 2% to 5% FX markup to all of that; with Ruvo it is zero. For many businesses, that single difference saves far more than any conversion fee, and TechFX has no card at all.

A real US account, sending, and crypto

Ruvo gives you your own US account details, a routing number and account number, to receive ACH, wire and direct deposits, a fully functional US account, not just an IBAN key. From there you can send to anyone, however you want:
  • Pay yourself, suppliers, family or partners.
  • By Pix, ACH, RTP (instant), wire, or crypto, receiving and sending digital dollars to and from any wallet.
TechFX receives and converts; it does not hand you a US account, let you send, or support crypto.

Ruvo also covers your personal side

TechFX is business-only. Ruvo covers both your company and you personally in one place:
  • Open a personal (PF) account alongside your business (PJ) one.
  • Free transfers between your PJ and PF accounts.
  • Personal accounts earn yield on your dollar balance, with equity investing being added on top.
A business-only FX service leaves the rest of your money elsewhere; Ruvo keeps it together. On the tax side, see business tax on exported services.

Why Ruvo is the more complete choice

TechFX does its one job, receiving export dollars at 0.5%. Ruvo does everything TechFX does, and much more: it receives dollars too, converts at 0.3% for businesses with 0% IOF, then adds holding dollars, a 0% IOF card, sending by any rail, crypto to any wallet, your own US account, and a personal account with yield and investments. Ruvo is also built specifically for the Brazil-US corridor. For a business living between the two countries, Ruvo is the more complete account.
